Werneth Low
Hill in England. Werneth Low is a hill in Greater Manchester, England, and a part of the Pennines. It is located on the borders of Stockport and Tameside, rising to a height of 279 metres. The villages of Woodley, Greave, Gee Cross, Mottram and Romiley lie on the sides of the low.
The term "low" does not refer to any lack of altitude, it being a northern English word for hill.
Werneth Low offers panoramic views over the Greater Manchester Urban Area and, in clear weather, the Winter Hill transmitting station can be seen from here. To the south, Stockport town centre, part of Wythenshawe in south Manchester and the Welsh Mountains can be viewed in clear weather.
The majority of Werneth Low is administered jointly by Hyde War Memorial Trust (link below) and Tameside Council. The trust organises the Remembrance and Peace day services. It was established to be guardian of Werneth Low, to keep it "For the people of Hyde" and provide a lasting monument to the 710 men of Hyde that perished in World War I.
Various landmarks can be seen from the top of Werneth Low, including: Manchester's Deansgate Square, Beetham Tower, the Oldham Civic Centre and Jodrell Bank Observatory's radio telescope (visible from the south-western end of the hilltop).[1]

St George's Church
Church in Hyde, England. St George's Church is on Church Street, Hyde, Greater Manchester, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Mottram, the archdeaconry of Macclesfield, and the diocese of Chester. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. It was a Commissioners' church, having received a grant towards its construction from the Church Building Commission.[2]

Godley Reservoir
Reservoir in England. The Godley Reservoir is a reservoir in Godley, Hyde, Greater Manchester. It was completed in 1851, as a critical part of the Longdendale Chain project that brings fresh water to Manchester.
The Manchester Corporation Waterworks Act 1847 gave permission for the construction of the Woodhead, Hollingworth and Arnfield reservoirs, and the construction of a masonry aqueduct to convey drinking water from Arnfield and Hollingworth to a service reservoir at Godley.
Water was captured from the River Etherow and stored in the great reservoirs and then flowed through the 6-foot bore Mottram Tunnel to Godley. At Godley the water was filtered by passing it through straining frames made of oak and fine wires. It was chlorinated to remove bacteria and then entered Manchester's water distribution network. This method was successfully used until the early 1960s, when additional treatment works were built at Arnfield and Godley.
In 2016 United Utilities completed the construction of a 3 MW 45,500-square-metre (11.2-acre) floating solar farm, the second and largest of its type in the UK, on the reservoir.[3]
