Nature reserve in Dereham, England. Scarning Fen is a 4-hectare nature reserve west in Dereham in Norfolk. It is managed by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust. It is a Nature Conservation Review site, Grade I, and is part of Potter and Scarning Fens Site of Special Scientific Interest and Norfolk Valley Fens Special Area of Conservation.

This small reserve has chalky valley mire, carr and grassland. Twenty-nine nationally scarce invertebrates have been recorded, and it is the only site in the county for the small red damselfly. There are a number of rare plants, including liverworts and mosses.[1]

Potter and Scarning Fens, East Dereham is a 6.2-hectare biological Site of Special Scientific Interest south of Dereham in Norfolk. It is part of the Norfolk Valley Fens Special Area of Conservation. Scarning Fen is a Nature Conservation Review site, Grade I, and it is managed by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust.

These are valleys with calcareous fens on peat with an exceptionally diverse flora, including uncommon mosses and liverworts. Insects include the nationally rare small red damselfly.

The fens are open to the public.[3]
