Porsgrunn City Hall
City or town hall in Porsgrunn, Norway. Porsgrunn City Hall is the seat of government for Porsgrunn city and municipality in Telemark, Norway. The current city hall was constructed in 1905 after the original building was destroyed in a fire. The building is situated at the intersection of Storgata and Rådhusgata in eastern Porsgrunn.[1]

Porsgrunn Bridge

Bridge in Porsgrunn, Norway. Porsgrunn Bridge is a drawbridge constructed of concrete. It is locationed in Porsgrunn town and municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county, Norway. The bridge, which was completed in 1958, connects the eastern and western sides of Porsgrunn town center. It crosses the Porsgrunn River a little above the point where the Skien watershed discharges into the Frierfjord. The boat traffic has an 8-meter bridge clearance.[2]

Parish church in Porsgrunn, Norway. Our Lady of Good Counsel Church is a Roman Catholic parish church in the city of Porsgrunn in Vestfold og Telemark, Norway.
The church is located in the center of town just south of Porsgrunn River, at the intersection of Sverresgate and Aallsgate. The church was built in 1899 by Haldor Larsen Børve and is a classic example of Dragestil architecture.[3]

Brevik Bridge

Suspension bridge. Brevik Bridge is one of two bridges that span the mouth of the Frierfjord. It connects the municipalities of Bamble and Porsgrunn in Vestfold og Telemark county. On the west side, in Bamble, lies Stathelle, while on the east side lies Brevik in Porsgrunn.
When the bridge opened in May 1962, it was part of E18. In 1996, the nearby Grenland Bridge (in Norwegian Grenlandsbrua) opened, taking over this role. Today, it is part of national road (in Norwegian riksvei, Rv) 354.[4]
Grenland Bridge

Cable-stayed bridge. Grenland Bridge is Norway's highest cable-stayed bridge with a tower height of 168 metres. The bridge, which opened in 1996, is on route E18. It crosses the Frierfjord, a fjord which separates the municipalities of Porsgrunn and Bamble in Vestfold og Telemark county. When built, it replaced Brevik Bridge as the primary route across the fjord.
The 608-metre-long (1,995 ft) bridge uses cable stayed construction to provide clearance for vessels up to 50 metres (164 ft) in height. The stay cables are arranged in 21 cable pairs with lengths from 84 to 287 metres (276 to 942 ft). The bridge's span is 305 metres (1,001 ft).[5]

Frednes Bridge

Bridge in Porsgrunn, Norway. Frednes Bridge is a bridge located on Highway 354 in Porsgrunn municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county, Norway.
The bridge crosses the Porrsgrunn River (Porsgrunnselva) at the mouth where the Skien River (Skiensvassdraget) passes out into Frierfjord at the site of Norsk Hydro's factory complex. The bridge was completed in 1995. It is constructed of prestressed concrete with a drawbridge span over the main channel. The bridge has a length of 461 meters, with a main span of 60 meters and clearance for vessels at mean water level is 13 meters.
Frednes was the historic name of an old district of Porsgrunn as well as the name of the Frednes farm. Frednes was purchased by shipping magnate Christen Knudsen who had moved there with his family in 1855. The manor house was expanded in 1865 but burned down in 1952 and was not rebuilt.[7]
