Church in Naga, Philippines. Our Lady of Peñafrancia Shrine is a Roman Catholic church in the Philippines, located in Naga City. It is under the jurisdiction of the Archdiocese of Caceres. The church was formerly the home of the image of Our Lady of Peñafrancia, before the Peñafrancia Basilica was constructed. Our Lady of Peñafrancia is one of East Asia's greatest sites of Christian pilgrimage.

The parish church is also the location of the Plaza Miguel Robles de Covarrubias, where the Traslacion procession of Our Lady of Peñafrancia begins, opening the Peñafrancia Festival.[1]

The Peñafrancia Minor Basilica or the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Peñafrancia is a Roman Catholic minor basilica located on the outskirts of Naga City—also known as the Pilgrim City and Queen City of Bicol—in the Bicol Region of the Philippines. It is one of the largest Marian Pilgrimage Sites in Asia. The icon of Our Lady of Peñafrancia is enshrined in this sanctuary. Rev. Fr. Rodel Cajot is the present Rector of the Basilica, having been appointed in 2011.

It is the only basilica in the Bicol Region and the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Caceres.[2]

The St. Anthony of Padua Parish Church, originally known as Camaligan Church, is a Roman Catholic church in Camaligan, Camarines Sur, Philippines. It is the one of the two parish churches of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Caceres located in the town of Camaligan. The parish was established in 1795. The first church structure of Camaligan that was made of stones and woods was burnt in the year 1856. The current church architecture was only completed in 1857, a year after the original structure was burnt. Though, it is still considered one of the oldest churches in Camarines Sur that is very rich in religious and cultural history, and a popular spot for Visita Iglesia.

The church is under the Vicariate of St. John the Evangelist. As of June 18, 2018, the current parish priest is Rev. Fr. Glenn C. Ruiz.[3]

Cathedral in Naga, Philippines. The Naga Metropolitan Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Naga City, Camarines Sur, Philippines. It is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Caceres. The first church was established after the creation of the archdiocese as the Diocese of Cáceres in 1595. The present cathedral was built in 1808, and was completed and consecrated in 1843.

The Most Rev. Rolando Joven Tria Tirona O.C.D. D.D. is the present Archbishop of Cáceres, while Rev. Msgr. Noe P. Badiola was appointed rector in 2011.[4]

Porta Mariae

Historical landmark in Naga, Philippines. The Porta Mariae is a triumphal arch in Naga City commemorating the tercentenary of the devotion to Our Lady of Peñafrancia.

The arch, 18 metres (59 ft) wide, 4 metres (13 ft) deep and 11 metres (36 ft) high, is surmounted by a 10 feet (3 m) tall brass image of Our Lady of Peñafrancia and two angels on each side. The main portal’s two small gates each accommodate three persons, while the central portal accommodates at least eight persons.

The arch was commissioned by the Archdiocese of Cáceres, and its construction was financed by the Peñafrancia Devotees of Metro Manila Foundation Inc. with General Salvador Mison as its director. It was designed by architect Gian Paolo P. Priela and completed under the direction of engineer Noriel L. Villar. The Porta Mariae was blessed and inaugurated by Archbishop Leonardo Legaspi on 9 September 2010.[9]
