St. Nicholas Church - a historic parish church dedicated to St. Nicholas, which was the most important temple of the left bank of Glogow.

Archaeological findings in the interior show that the church was built in the 30s and 40s of the 13th century. It was built as a late-Romanesque, three-nave basilica on a longitudinal plan. The presbytery was built first, together with a partition from the rainbow arch. Then the nave body was built, starting with the walls of the side aisles and apses. The northern side nave was closed from the east with a semicircular apse (the width of the northern nave was 4 meters). The southern side aisle was closed with a semicircular apse inside and polygonal outside (width - 4.5 m). The length of the naves was 24 m, while the width of the nave and the chancel was 8.3 m. After the great fire of 1291 the temple was rebuilt, but in the Gothic style. The new chancel was elongated and closed with polygons. Three pairs of polygonal pillars were also built. The interior was covered with a ribbed vault based on supports, held up by buttresses and buttresses. The side nave apses were replaced by rectangular chapels. A tower with side annexes was built from the west, being an extension of the side aisles. At its base there is a Gothic portal with a bust of the patron saint of the church, St. Nicholas. After another fire, in 1642, the interior received a Baroque décor. In 1758 the upper storey of the tower was added.

The church was destroyed in 1945 and has remained a ruin ever since, subject to periodic conservation work. At present, the ruins of the church have preserved their gothic form with reconstructions from the Middle Ages and later centuries. Also preserved are the Gothic peripheral walls, part of the Gothic and Baroque vaults, the northern inter-naval arcade and the partially destroyed tower. After preservation, the tower will become a monument - a symbol of the destruction of Glogow during World War II, while the nave will be adapted to an amphitheater.

The John of Glogow bench in Glogow is a modest monument dedicated to the medieval scholar, teacher of Nicolaus Copernicus. It has the form of a monumental bench fashionable in recent decades. It was unveiled in 2007 at Wolności Avenue in Głogów, at the edge of the square bearing the name of the scholar from the Kraków Academy. The work was made in polymer resin technique. The material turned out to be extremely fragile, besides numerous cracks, it bears traces of numerous vandalisms.

The figure of John sits at the left end of the bench. On the scholar's right thigh lies a card with the inscription: ON THE 500TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE DEATH / OF / JAN OF GŁOGÓW / ASTRONOMER / MATHEMATICIAN / PHILOSOPHER / TEACHER / MIKOŁAJ KOPERNIK / INHABITANTS / GŁOGÓW / A.D. 2007.
