Parque Nicolás Salmerón
Nicolás Salmerón Park is an urban park located in the city of Almería, between the port and the city. It is divided into three areas known as Parque Viejo, Parque Nuevo and Paseo de San Luis.
The Parque Viejo, as the area next to the port is popularly known, from the Rambla de la Chanca to the traffic circle of the Fuente de los Peces fountain by Jesús de Perceval, at the foot of Calle Real, was designed by José María de Acosta and contains a multitude of centenary trees. The surroundings of the park are adorned with fountains and ponds, together with urban furniture, as well as rows of palm trees.
For its part, the New Park is an area adorned with ponds and fountains redesigned by Guillermo Langle Rubio in the seventies on the occasion of the celebration of the naval week of Spain. It goes from the aforementioned traffic circle to the Reina Regente avenue.
