Neuenhof Castle is one of Lüdenscheid's most outstanding architectural monuments in terms of art history and urban history. The moated castle is located in the south of the city in the Elspetal. A signposted road leads off from the B 229. Since it is occupied by the owner Alhard Graf von dem Bussche-Kessell, the interior cannot be visited.

The public library in Lüdenscheid, or rather its predecessor, the "Volksbibliothek der Stadt Lüdenscheid" (People's Library of the City of Lüdenscheid), was opened on May 10, 1857, and was one of the older libraries in Germany with this designation and the claim to be open to all classes of the population. The public library itself is located in the eastern part of downtown Lüdenscheid, not far from the Wilhelmstraße shopping area and the town hall.
