The Luisenhütte Wocklum in the Balver district of Wocklum is the oldest blast furnace plant in Germany that has been preserved with complete equipment.

The parish church of St. Blasius in Balve has been dedicated to St. Blasius of Sebaste and the Blessed Virgin Mary since the 13th century. In 1430, Balve was granted city rights by Elector Dietrich II of Cologne. The Balve parish church was located outside the city fortifications and was originally part of the "Oberhof".

In the possession of the parish is a reliquary with relics of St. Blasius and a folding altar with relics of Benedict of Nursia. Balve belongs to the archdiocese of Paderborn.

The Bauverein St. Blasius is responsible for the maintenance of the church.

The Balve Jewish Cemetery is a Jewish cemetery in the town of Balve in the Märkischer Kreis district. It is located on the street Dechant-Amecke-Weg.

There are six gravestones on it. Its size is 394 m².

The cemetery was occupied in the period around 1868 until 1935. In 1972 this burial ground was bought by the Catholic Church.

A predecessor cemetery was opened in 1718, its location is unknown.
