Flügge Lighthouse stands in the southwest of the island of Fehmarn, a few kilometers west of the Fehmarnsund Bridge. The lighthouse is open for viewing and offers a wide view over the Krummsteert, the Fehmarnsund Bridge across to Staberhuk - on the other side to Heiligenhafen and Großenbrode.

The Westermarkelsdorf lighthouse, sometimes called the Hakenorth lighthouse, is a listed lighthouse on the island of Fehmarn in the district of Ostholstein in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein. It stands at the northwest corner of the island and as an orientation and warning beacon shows the way into the Fehmarn Belt. The old lighthouse was replaced by a new one on July 7, 2021. The old tower is still there, but now without function.

Segelschulschiff Niobe was a tall ship used by the Reichsmarine to train cadets and aspiring NCOs. She sank during a white squall on 26 July 1932, with the loss of 69 lives. A memorial monument to Niobe was erected at Gammendorfer Strand on Fehmarn island, within view of the site of the sinking.[3]
