Burg Dinslaken
Castle in Dinslaken-a castle in North Rhine-Westphalia, in the western part of Germany, in Dinslaken. It is also the reproductive cell of this city. Built in the wetland between the Rhine, Rotbach, Emscher and Lippe as a Motte knight's residence was in the Middle Ages one of the most important castles of the Duchy of Kleve. In the era of modernity, the building was no longer as important as before and used only as an office and headquarters for knights. It was rebuilt and expanded many times in the 17th and 18th centuries. At the beginning of the 20th century, it was acquired by the city of Dinslaken and rebuilt into a round house. After great damage after World War II, the castle was rebuilt in a modern form and today serves, among others, as the city hall. From April 4, 1984, the building acts as a monument and is under protection.
