Museum in a former industrial gas tank. The Gasometer Oberhausen is a former gas holder in Oberhausen, Germany, which has been converted into an exhibition space. It has hosted several large scale exhibitions, including two by Christo and Jeanne-Claude. The Gasometer is an industrial landmark, and an anchor point of the European Route of Industrial Heritage and the Industrial Heritage Trail. It was built in the 1920s, and reconstructed after World War II.[1]

Museum in Oberhausen, Germany. The Rheinisches Industriemuseum is a decentralized museum with six locations in Rhineland, western Germany. The locations are:

  • Oberhausen: the main site at the old Zinkfabrik Altenberg (zinc factory), near the Oberhausen main station
  • Ratingen: Textilfabrik Cromford (textiles factory), the first factory in continental Europe, named after the Cromford Mill
  • Solingen: Gesenkschmiede Hendrichs (forge)
  • Bergisch Gladbach: Papiermühle Alte Dombach (paper mill)
  • Engelskirchen: Ermen & Engels cotton spinning mill
  • Euskirchen: Tuchfabrik Müller (textile factory)

The owner of the museum is the Landschaftsverband Rheinland (LVR).[2]

Arena in Oberhausen, Germany. The Rudolf Weber-Arena is a multi-purpose arena, located in Oberhausen, Germany. Opening in 1996, the arena is a part of leisure and shopping center, CentrO. The venue was built in Neue Mitte Oberhausen, a former industrial plant. In November 2001, König Brauerei, a brewery in Duisburg purchased naming rights to the arena. In December 2021, the arena's naming rights were purchased by Essen-based cleaning company Rudolf Weber GmbH.[3]

Sea Life Adventure Park was a theme park owned by the Merlin Entertainments Group in Oberhausen, Germany. It combined a classic Sea Life Centre with an outdoor area with rides. Opened in 1996 under the name CentrO.PARK, the park was bought out in 2011 and reopened under a new name in 2013.

Live music venue in Oberhausen, Germany. The Turbinenhalle is a music and cultural venue on Mülheimerstraße in Oberhausen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

The complex opened in 1909 to generate power to the Gutehoffnungshütte coal and steel engineering company which was based in Oberhausen until 1986.

After a number of years derelict, the building was reopened as a disco in 1993 and has since evolved into one of the largest venues in the surrounding area. The complex consists of numerous rooms of varying sizes. The largest room is Turbinenhalle 1 with a capacity of approximately 1,500 - followed by Turbinenhalle 2 which fits approximately 1,100. There are also three nightclubs on site - T-Club, Steffy and COSMO.

The Turbinenhalle is situated on the Duisburg–Dortmund railway and is a stop on the Ruhrpott Industrial Heritage Trail.[4]
