Yichang Bridge

Bridge. The Yichang Yangtze River Highway Bridge is a suspension bridge that crosses the Yangtze River some 20 km downstream from the center city of Yichang, China. It is located within the prefecture-level city of Yichang, and carries the G50 Shanghai–Chongqing Expressway.

The construction of the bridge started on 19 February 1998. and it was open for traffic on 19 September 2001.

It has a main span of 960 meters (3,150 feet). As of 2012, it is among the 30 longest suspension bridges, based on the length of the main span.

The cost of building the bridge was reported as 895 million yuan.[1]

Cable-stayed bridge in Yichang, China. The Yiling Yangtze River Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge over the Yangtze River in the city-center of Yichang, Hubei. It has 3 towers and two main spans, with a total of 4 spans including the side spans. It is a road bridge which carries four lanes of roadway and has a toll booth at one end. The bridge has a singular cable tension system, which carries the deck from the center. The Bridge crosses the Yangtze River, near Dagongqiao in Yichang. The main spans are 346 meters each. At the end of the bridge, to the south there is a cloverleaf interchange after the toll booth which is and exchange for the road.

The bridge is 6.4 kilometers downriver from the Three Gorges Dam.[2]

Bridge. The Yichang Yangtze River Railway Bridge is an arch bridge in Yichang, Chongqing, China. The bridge was completed in 2008 and carries the Yichang−Wanzhou Railway across the Yangtze River. The bridge has two main spans of 275 metres each.[3]

Yiling District

Chinese county. Yiling District is a district of the prefecture-level city of Yichang, Hubei province, People's Republic of China. Created on July 30, 2001, the district includes most of the former Yichang County, with the exception of Yichang center city and certain southern and western suburbs.

The land area of Yiling District is 3424 square km, population 510,000 (as of 2004).

The district's seat of government is on the northern outskirts of Yichang urban area.

Both Gezhouba Dam and the Three Gorges Dam are located within the district.

The Xiling Bridge spans the Changjiang (Yangtze River) in the western part of Yiling District, connecting the towns of Letianxi and Sandouping on the northern and southern sides of the river. To add to the confusion, Yiling Bridge is not within Yiling District - rather, it connects the center-city Xiling District with Dianjun District south of the river.[4]

Dianjun District is a district of the city of Yichang, Hubei, People's Republic of China. In 2004 it had 105,175 residents.

The district is located on the right (southwestern) bank of the Yangtze, opposite the Yichang City center (which, administratively, forms Xiling District).[6]

There are 33 community neighborhood committees in 4 Street offices and 16 village committees in 1 townships, with a total population of 214194 at the end of 2010. Wujiagang district is the old industrial district of Yichang City, with a large quantity of high quality industrial stock.
