Built in 1819, the stone structure is an important reminder of the town's agricultural past, and one of a few such structures of its type to survive in the state. Movie theater in Waldoboro, Maine. The Waldo Theatre is a historic movie theater and performance venue at 916 Main Street in Waldoboro, Maine. Built in 1936 as a movie theater to a design by New York City architect Benjamin Schlanger, it was hailed at the time as one of the best-designed state-of-the-art small theaters in the country. It is now managed by a non-profit arts organization. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.[2]

Built in 1879 for the widow of a successful ship's captain and shipbuilder, it is an elaborately decorated example of Second Empire architecture with Stick style features. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982; it presently houses a funeral home.[3]

The U.S. Customhouse and Post Office is a historic federal government building in Waldoboro, Maine. Built 1855–57, it is a fine local example of civic Italianate architecture. For much of the 20th century it housed the Waldoboro Public Library. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.[4]
