Body of water. The Södertälje Canal is a canal connecting the lake Mälaren with the Baltic Sea, at the city of Södertälje. It is 5.2 km long, and it has one lock. The size of this lock is the largest in Scandinavia by allowed ship size. The lock is 135 m long and 17 m wide. The water level difference between Mälaren and the Baltic Sea is not large, on average 0.6 m. This is the main shipping route into the lake Mälaren.[1]

Torekällberget
Torekällberget is an open-air museum on Torekällberget in central Södertälje in Stockholm County. The museum opened in 1929 and shows how people lived in Södertälje and eastern Södermanland in the 19th century. The museum area is divided into "The City" and "The Country". Nora windmill has become the "brand" and symbol of the museum. The 19th century week at Torekällberget was a recurring summer event where the history of Sörmländ came to life again. It was celebrated annually from 2014 to 2019. For 2020, there was a lack of funding to carry out the event.

Oktoberteatern is a theatre in Södertälje in Södermanland and Stockholm County. The theatre originally opened as the Castor cinema in 1929, but was later converted to accommodate wide live theatre performances. The theatre group Oktober, which today gives its name to the venue, was founded in 1972 or 1973 and moved to Södertälje in 1978.
