Castle in Poggibonsi, Italy. The Castello della Magione is a medieval castle in Poggibonsi. It is an example of a medieval "Mansio" that belonged to the Knights Templar. The castle includes the ancient church and the “spedale” for the pilgrims in transit to Rome on the Via Francigena. The complex is near the ancient crossing of the Via Francigena over the Staggia River, near the Bonizio bridge, now destroyed.[1]

The Politeama Theater is an important multi-purpose facility located in the heart of Poggibonsi where the classical theater "Ravvivati Costanti" dating back to the early 1800s and destroyed by bombing in December 1943 was once located and where, after the war, a movie theater operating until the early 1990s was rebuilt.

The City of Poggibonsi decided in 1997 to acquire the building and entrust its complete renovation to the firm of architects Adolfo Natalini, Piero Guicciardini and Marco Magni.

The theater is located in the main hall with a capacity of 594 seats (stage 18 meters wide, 11 meters deep and 14 meters high). The hall will also be used as a cinema and convention hall.

Other spaces include the audiovisual laboratory, recording studio, video library, exhibition hall and bar/restaurant. The smaller hall, with 196 seats, is dedicated to film screenings, conferences and is equipped with a small stage that hosts musical performances, monologues, etc.
