Meersburg Castle, also known as the Alte Burg, in Meersburg on Lake Constance in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, is considered to be one of the oldest inhabited castles in Germany. The central tower was first built during the 7th century, though the original structure is no longer visible. Burg Meersburg is known as the old castle, in the reference to the neighboring 18th century New Castle.[1]

The Stadtpfarrkirche Mariä Heimsuchung is a Roman Catholic church building in Meersburg on Lake Constance. The church is located in the north of the old town, on Stettener Straße. Together with the parish of St. Martin in Seefelden and with St. Jodokus in Immenstaad, the parish forms the pastoral unit of Meersburg in the Linzgau Deanery in the Archdiocese of Freiburg. The pilgrimage church Maria zum Berge Karmel in Baitenhausen as well as the chapels St. Martin in Daisendorf and St. Peter and Paul in Stetten are affiliated to it as daughter churches.
