Porto Maurizio
Also known as: Imperia
City in Italy. Imperia is a coastal city and comune in the region of Liguria, Italy. It is the capital of the Province of Imperia, and historically it was capital of the Intemelia district of Liguria. Benito Mussolini created the city of Imperia on 21 October 1923 by combining Porto Maurizio and Oneglia, as well as the surrounding village communes of Piani, Caramagna Ligure, Castelvecchio di Santa Maria Maggiore, Borgo Sant'Agata, Costa d'Oneglia, Poggi, Torrazza, Moltedo and Montegrazie.
Imperia is well known for the cultivation of flowers and olives, and is a popular summer destination for visitors. The local Piscina Felice Cascione indoor pool has hosted numerous national and international aquatics events.[1]

Oneglia
Suburb in Imperia, Italy. Oneglia is a former town in northern Italy on the Ligurian coast, in 1923 joined to Porto Maurizio to form the Comune of Imperia. The name is still used for the suburb.
The Imperia Oneglia railway station was closed in 2016, due to the new organization of the city, which provides a new station in the middle core of the city of Imperia, just to make easier the connection between Porto Maurizio and Oneglia. This specific point of the city, in the early 1930 was the hearth of the Liguria's economy, due to the important oil commerce that was pretty consistent at that time.[2]

Duomo di San Maurizio
The co-cathedral basilica of Saints Maurice and Companions Martyrs is the principal place of Catholic worship in Imperia, Liguria; a minor basilica since September 22, 1947, it is the seat of the parish of the same name and co-cathedral of the diocese of Albenga-Imperia.
The building, which was built in the Neoclassical style based on a design by Gaetano Cantoni starting in 1781 and finished in 1838, was built according to canons of pomp and majesty as a testament to the wealth of the Maritime Republic of Genoa and Porto Maurizio.
It is the largest church in all of Liguria: in fact, its exterior dimensions are about 70 × 42 m (82 m the length including the front steps), with a total area of about 3000 m². The bell towers are about 36 m high and the top of the main dome lantern about 48 m. The interior dimensions are 69 × 35 m; the main dome is 33 m high, the secondary dome 23 m high.
