The Jardin botanique de Cayenne is a botanical garden located at the end of the Avenue Charles de Gaulle, adjacent to the university, in Cayenne, French Guiana. The garden measures 3 hectares. Although the Conseil Général de la Guyane states that the garden, formerly the Jardin du Roi, was established in 1879, there are earlier references to a botanical garden in Cayenne. It now contains a statue of politician Gaston Monnerville.[2]

The French Guiana Prefecture Building is the seat of the Prefect of French Guiana. It is located in Cayenne, French Guiana, France. It was originally built as a monastery of the Jesuits. In 1762, it became the headquarters of the Colonial Government. Since 1946, it is used by the prefecture. In 1978, it became a monument historique.[3]

Place of worship in Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni. The St. Lawrence Church is a religious building that serves as a parish church dependent on the Diocese of Cayenne which was created by pope Pius XII with the Bull "Qua sollicitudine" in 1956.

The temple follows the Roman or Latin rite, is located in the town of Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni, French Guiana. The church is listed as a historic monument by a legal provision of 16 August 1995.

It originated in the first chapel dedicated to St. Lawrence opened in 1958. The present church was renovated and reopened in 2006.[4]

La Charbonnière was created in 1989 to house Surinamese refugees, and to resettle the inhabitants of the shanty towns. It is located between the ferry to Albina and the village of Balaté.[6]
