The Soleri Viaduct is a promiscuous road and rail viaduct that cuts across the depression, about 800 m wide and 50 m deep, in which the Stura di Demonte flows, connecting the town of Cuneo to the left bank of the river. Conceived at the beginning of the 20th century to connect the new station on the plateau to the railway line coming from Turin, it was deemed appropriate to partially transform it into a promiscuous one by overlaying it with a seat for ordinary roads. Its troubled construction lasted from 1913 to 1937. Initially known as the "great viaduct over the Stura," it was named after Marcello Soleri during reconstruction after World War II.

It has become infamous for being the scene of numerous suicides. To try to prevent such acts, the municipality of Cuneo had high fences installed along the entire development of the road bridge.
