Cathedral in Carrara, Italy. Carrara Cathedral is a Roman Catholic church, dedicated to Saint Andrew, in the town of Carrara, located in central Italy. Most of the exterior, and much of the interior, is covered in the local Carrara marble.[1]

Teatro Animosi

The Animosi Theater is the main theater in the city of Carrara, often referred to as Gli Animosi. Located in the "For'd'Porta" neighborhood, it overlooks the pedestrian Cesare Battisti Square. The current theater season consists of prose, opera, ballet, classical and light music concerts. The premises of the ridotto host lectures, conferences, presentations, concerts and exhibitions. The building was closed to the public in 2010 and, after a brief three-month reopening in early 2017, closed again. In November 2019 it was opened again.

Piazza Alberica is the largest and most important historic square in Carrara. The area where it is located, once uninhabited, was the ancient Platea Porcorum, the place where the cattle market was held.

The name Alberica Square derives from Alberico I Cybo-Malaspina, who renovated it in the second half of the sixteenth century, making it the new site of the city's economic power.

It is located in the northern part of the range, and, being mostly composed of marble of renowned quality, is home to several quarries. The name (meaning "holy") identifies it as a sacred place for the ancient Liguri tribe, together with the Monte Bego at the modern boundary between France and Italy.[3]
