Almere Castle
Almere Castle is a half-finished castle in the Dutch town of Almere in the province of Flevoland, Netherlands. Construction started in 2000 but was halted in 2002, after which the building has turned into a contemporary ruin. It is located on the Oude Waterlandseweg in Almere Haven and is visible from the A6 motorway.[1]
Gooimeer
Lake for beach swimming and sailing. The Gooimeer is a bordering lake in the Netherlands between the southeastern part of North Holland and Flevoland.
There is a railroad bridge over the narrow west side, between Weesp and Almere Muziekwijk, with a parallel highway bridge, the Hollandse Brug. The narrow eastern border of the lake is crossed by two parallel highway bridges.
On the south bank of Gooimeer, which used to be the IJsselmeer, before the creation of the new polder Flevoland, the old cities of Naarden and Huizen can be found. The Naarderwoonbos, part of the Naarderbos, was built in the eighties. It is situated directly adjacent to the southern shore of the Gooimeer.
The Gooimeer is related to the crash of El Al Flight 1862 in 1992, as the two right-hand side jet engines separated from the plane and fell into the lake, witnessed by a fishing off-duty police officer. The plane suffered serious damage to its right wing after losing the engines, and continued on for eight minutes until it crashed into the Bijlmermeer apartment complex, killing all of the occupants of the aircraft as well as several residents of the apartment complex.

Stichting AAP
AAP Foundation is an organization that takes in animals in need and advocates for better animal welfare laws throughout Europe. For example, animals have been illegally smuggled into a country or have been dumped after private individuals can no longer afford to care for them. Many other animals that arrive at AAP come from distressed animal parks, laboratory animals and circuses. The animals that come to AAP must first go into quarantine for a period of at least 6 weeks for an extensive medical examination and treatment plan. Unless the animal naturally prefers to live alone, the animal will then be reunited with peers at one of AAP's departments. When the animals have recovered, a place is found where they can stay for the rest of their lives.
The foundation is based on the De Kemphaan country estate in Almere and depends on sponsors and donors. Recipients of Air Miles are requested to donate them to AAP Foundation. Also, there are many empty cartridges and used cell phones collected annually with the fee benefiting Foundation AAP.
