Sabarmati Ashram
Also known as: साबरमती आश्रम
Spiritual site in Gandhi's former home. Sabarmati Ashram is located in the Sabarmati suburb of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, adjoining the Ashram Road, on the banks of the River Sabarmati, 4 miles from the town hall. This was one of the many residences of Mahatma Gandhi who lived at Sabarmati and Sevagram when he was not travelling across India or in prison. He lived in Sabarmati or Wardha for a total of twelve years with his wife Kasturba Gandhi and followers, including Vinoba Bhave. The Bhagavad Gita was recited here daily as part of the Ashram schedule.
It was from here that Gandhi led the Dandi march also known as the Salt Satyagraha on 12 March 1930. In recognition of the significant influence that this march had on the Indian independence movement, the Indian government has established the ashram as a national monument.[1]

Kankaria Lake
Also known as: कांकरीया झील
Lake in India. Kankaria Lake is the second largest lake in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It is located in the south-eastern part of the city, in the Maninagar area. It was completed in 1451 during the reign of Sultan Qutb-ud-Din Ahmad Shah II though its origin is placed in the Chaulukya period sometimes. A lakefront is developed around it, which has many public attractions such as a zoo, toy train, kids city, tethered balloon ride, water rides, water park, food stalls, and entertainment facilities. The lakefront was revamped in 2007–2008. Kankaria Carnival is a week-long festival held here in the last week of December. Many cultural, art, and social activities are organised during the carnival.[2]

Jama Masjid
Masjid in Ahmedabad, India. Jama Masjid, also known as Jumah Mosque or Jami' Masjid, is a mosque in Ahmedabad, and was built in 1424 during the reign of Ahmad Shah I. The inscription on the central mihrab commemorates the inauguration of the mosque on the 1st Safar A.H. 827 or January 4, 1424 A.D. by Sultan Ahmad Shah I. The mosque lies in the old walled city, and it is situated outside Bhadra Fort area. The old walled city is divided into separate quarters or pols, and the Jami' Masjid is found on the Gandhi Road. Along the south side of the road, the mosque is a short distance beyond the Teen Darwaza or Tripolia Gate.
The Jama Masjid was the fifth mosque structure built during Ahmed Shah I's reign. The prior mosques had either been modest in size or were for private use. The Jama Masjid was the complete opposite of its predecessors in that it was a large, grandiose structure. The mosque complex has a large paved courtyard that can be entered from three different directions. The courtyard has an ablution tank in the middle. The west side of the building is home to the prayer hall. The entire mosque is emblematic of what came to be known as Gujarat style architecture.[5]

Amdavad ni Gufa
Art gallery in Ahmedabad, India. Amdavad ni Gufa is an underground art gallery in Ahmedabad, India. Designed by the architect Balkrishna Vithaldas Doshi, it exhibits works of the Indian artist Maqbool Fida Husain. The gallery represents a unique juxtaposition of architecture and art. The cave-like underground structure has a roof made of multiple interconnected domes, covered with a mosaic of tiles. On the inside, irregular tree-like columns support the domes. It was earlier known as Husain-Doshi ni Gufa.
There are facilities for special painting exhibitions and for projecting films. Gardens and a café are located above ground.[7]

Tagore Hall
Tagore Memorial Hall, also known as Tagore Hall, is an auditorium in Ahmedabad, India. It is designed by B. V. Doshi in 1961. It is an example of brutalist architecture. The construction started in 1966 and completed in 1971. It was renovated in 2013.[8]

Teen Darwaza

Tourist attraction in Ahmedabad, India. Teen Darwaza is a historical gateway on the east of Bhadra Fort, Ahmedabad, India. Completed in 1415, it is associated with historical as well as legendary events. The gates are featured in the logo of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.[10]

Bhadra Fort
Fortress in Ahmedabad, India. Bhadra Fort is situated in the walled city area of Ahmedabad, India. It was built by Ahmad Shah I in 1411. With its well carved royal palaces, mosques, gates and open spaces, it was renovated in 2014 by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and Archaeological Survey of India as a cultural centre for the city.[11]

Vastrapur Lake
Also known as: वस्त्रापुर झील
Lake in India. Vastrapur Lake is situated in western part of Ahmedabad. It is officially named after Narsinh Mehta. The lake was beautified by the AMC after 2002 and has since become a popular spot in the city.
Everyday, many people visit this lake. It currently boasts an open-air theater and children's park. There is a 600m pathway all around the lake which serves many walkers and joggers in the early mornings and in the evenings. There are also few fitness equipments available like chest press, lat pull down, hip rollers, pull bar, rowing machine.
The lush green lawns surrounding this lake also serve as a central hub of Ahmedabad, wherein various cultural events take place regularly.
At times, the water from Narmada River is allowed to flow into this lake. The lake is surrounded by pretty gardens with much stonework.
In 2013, Vastrapur lake was renamed to 'Bhakt Kavi Narsinh Mehta Sarovar' in memory of Narsinh Mehta and a statue of Narsinh Mehta was installed in the garden of lake.
In 2016, the lake almost dried up. People removed dead fish, and moved surviving fish elsewhere.
In September 2019, Amdavad Municipal Corporation is planning fill the lake with Narmada River water.[12]

Sabarmati Riverfront

Kalupur Swaminarayan Mandir
