Lake in West Virginia. Stonewall Jackson Lake is an 2,630-acre impoundment on the West Fork River in Lewis County, West Virginia. The lake is a flood control project of the Pittsburgh District of the United States Army Corps of Engineers and named for Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson, a native of Lewis County. Stonewall Resort is located along the lake's shore. Facilities provided by the Corps of Engineers included a visitors center with public restrooms, a hiking trail, and fishing access.

Downstream towns and cities protected by the lake include Weston, Clarksburg, Shinnston, and Fairmont, all in West Virginia

The lake is a popular spot for largemouth bass fishing. A list of fishing species in the lake include:

Public library. Jonathan M. Bennett House, also known as Louis Bennett Public Library, is a historic home located at Weston, Lewis County, West Virginia. Its name reflects its builder, Jonathan M. Bennett, who represented Lewis County in the Virginia General Assembly and served as state auditor before the American Civil War. Bennett was a prominent local lawyer and businessman, who was allowed to hold office in West Virginia following its adoption of a new state Constitution in 1872. He built this house in 1874–1875; the 17-room mansion reflects the High Victorian Italianate style. It features a 4+1⁄2-story entrance tower with a mansard roof. It also has heavy wooden brackets on the tower and verandah, a balustraded tower balcony, and an elaborate bargeboard. it was left by Mrs. Louis Bennett, Sr. in 1922 to the citizens of Lewis County as a public library and community center.

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. It is located in the Weston Downtown Historic District, listed in 1985.^[2]

Museum. Weston Colored School, also known as the Central West Virginia Genealogical & Historical Library and Museum and Frontier School, is a historic one-room school building located at Weston, Lewis County, West Virginia. It was built in 1882, and is a single-story rubbed red brick building on a fieldstone foundation. It originally measured 22 feet by 28 feet, then enlarged in 1928 by 12 feet, 6 inches. It was used as an educational facility for the community's African-American youth until desegregation in 1954. It was subsequently used for storage, then an agricultural classroom for the Lewis County High School, and as a shop for mentally disabled students. It afterwards was used by the Central West Virginia Genealogical & Historical Library and Museum.

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. It is located in the Weston Downtown Residential Historic District, listed in 2005.^[3]

State park in Roanoke, West Virginia. Stonewall Jackson Lake State Park is a state park along the shores of Stonewall Jackson Lake, an impoundment on the West Fork River in the U.S. state of West Virginia. The lake is a project of the United States Army Corps of Engineers. The original park was completed in 1990 and consisted of a campground, marina, multi-purpose building, and park offices. The revenues generated from park activities were not able to support the debt from construction activities. Senator Robert C. Byrd developed a legislation that meant the State would not have to pay the Corps the $28 million debt if improvements to the State Park exceeded $28 million.

The state chose to venture with the private firm, McCabe-Henley Properties of Charleston. McCabe-Henley, through a bond-issuing agency, sold $44 million in bonds to private markets and investors. This provided a sum of $54 million ($10 million from the State and $44 million from investors), which has been used to build the resort. McCabe-Henley selected management company Benchmark Hospitality International to manage the State Park and Resort. For marketing purposes, the resort is referred to as Stonewall Resort and Stonewall Resort State Park despite the legal name of the park still being Stonewall Jackson Lake State Park.

The resort is located in Lewis County, West Virginia, about 10 miles (16 km) south of Weston and about three miles (5 km) off the Roanoke Exit (Exit 91) of Interstate 79.^[4]
