Vechelde Castle was a hunting and pleasure palace in the former Principality of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel in Vechelde near Brunswick. The place is now the administrative seat of the municipality of Vechelde in the district of Peine in Lower Saxony. The castle is not preserved; the former baroque castle garden is freely accessible to the public.

The Vechelde subcamp, also called Außenkommando in the jargon of the time, existed from September 1944 to February 1945 as a subcamp of the Neuengamme concentration camp in Vechelde. The concentration camp prisoners were mainly 400 Polish Jews who had survived the Lodz ghetto. The camp leader was Heinrich Sebrantke and his superior, the camp commander Max Kirstein of the Schillstraße subcamp in Braunschweig.
