Valdosta Mall
Shopping mall in Valdosta, Georgia. Valdosta Mall is an enclosed shopping mall located in Valdosta, Georgia, United States.
It is composed of more than 70 stores and restaurants in 560,000 sq ft (52,026 m2) of gross leasable area. Belk, and JCPenney, are the mall's anchor stores. The wing featuring JCPenney was part of a 1985 expansion. An Additional Vacant Anchor was previously a Sears which closed in 2018. In 2006, an outdoor concourse was added to the mall's front face, bringing in Old Navy, PetSmart, Office Depot and Ross Dress For Less as junior anchors. In 2007, the JCPenney store expanded greatly, taking over some of the space vacated when the old movie theater moved across the street.
The mall was formerly known as Colonial Mall Valdosta under the ownership of Colonial Properties Trust who sold the mall to Jones Lang LaSalle in 2007. The mall is currently owned by CBL & Associates Properties.
In 2015, the Office Depot was replaced with a Bed, Bath & Beyond.
On November 2, 2017, it was announced that Sears would be closing as part of a plan to close 63 stores nationwide. The store closed in January 2018.
Sometime in December 2018, the FYE store in the mall announced its closing, and a storewide discount of 30-50% began. It is closed completely as of January 22, 2019.

Bazemore–Hyder Stadium
Stadium in Valdosta, Georgia. Bazemore–Hyder Stadium at Cleveland Field is a stadium in Valdosta, Georgia. It is primarily used for American football, and is the home field of Valdosta High School. Valdosta State University, winner of the NCAA Division II National Football Championship in 2004, 2007, 2012, and 2018 also uses Bazemore–Hyder Stadium as a home field. The stadium holds 11,249 people and was opened in 1922. The original name of the stadium was Cleveland Field. The stadium's nickname is "Death Valley." It is the home of Valdosta Wildcats football and soccer and Valdosta State Blazers football.[2]

Carnegie Library of Valdosta
Museum in Valdosta, Georgia. The Carnegie Library of Valdosta is a Carnegie library building in Valdosta, Georgia. It was constructed in 1913 for $40,000, with help from a $15,000 Carnegie grant. It was the first building designed by local architect Lloyd V. Greer. It opened in 1914. Decades later it became a branch library and then the base for the Lowndes County Historical Society. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 12, 1984. It is located at 305 West Central Avenue. Originally part of the South Georgia Regional Library, the library building is now home to the Lowndes County Historical Society and Museum.[3]

The Crescent
Building. The Crescent, at 904 N. Paterson St. in Valdosta in Lowndes County, Georgia, is a Neoclassical house built in 1898. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
It is a three-story building with a monumental two-story semi-circular portico. It was designed by Atlanta architects Bleckley & Tyler and has also been known as the Colonel William S. West House.[4]

Valdosta State University
Public university in Valdosta, Georgia. Valdosta State University is a public university in Valdosta, Georgia. It is one of the four comprehensive universities in the University System of Georgia. As of 2011, VSU had over 12,000 undergraduate and graduate students. VSU also offers classes at Moody Air Force Base north of Valdosta in Lowndes County.
Degree levels offered at Valdosta State include associate, bachelor's, master's, Education Specialist, and doctoral degree. The university is composed of the Colleges of the Arts, College of Business Administration, College of Education and Human Services, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, College of Science and Mathematics. Lowndes County Courthouse is a historic county courthouse building in Valdosta, Georgia. It was designed by Frank P. Milburn and completed in 1905. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 18, 1980. It is located at Central and Ashley streets.[6]

First Presbyterian Church
Church in Valdosta, Georgia. The First Presbyterian Church in Valdosta, Georgia is a historic Presbyterian church that was built in 1910. It is located at 313 N. Patterson Street.
It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.
It is the only Classical Revival-style church in Valdosta, and was designed by Atlanta architects James W. Butt (d. 1914) and Marshall F. Morris (d. 1921). The church's front facade, on Patterson Street, has a portico with six Corinthian columns, with dentils and modillions in its cornice and pediment, and decorative terra cotta in the tympanum. It also has two pedimented cross-gabled pavilions with dentils and modillions on its Magnolia Street facade.
Butt & Norris also designed the Thomas P. Arnold House in Palmetto, Georgia, which also is NRHP-listed.[9]
