Traditionsbetriebswerk Stassfurt
Also known as: Traditionsbetriebswerk Staßfurt
The Traditionsbetriebswerk Stassfurt is a German railway motive power depot at Stassfurt in the state of Saxony-Anhalt that was opened in 1856. Today the locomotive depot, that lies on the Schönebeck to Güsten railway line, is operated by the society Eisenbahnfreunde Traditionsbahnbetriebswerk Staßfurt.
The locomotive roundhouse, with its 20m turntable, is over 100 years old and can accommodate 24 locomotives. Until 1988, DRG Class 41 and Class 50 steam locomotives were deployed from here on regular passenger, fast-stopping and freight services.[1]

The city walls of Staßfurt were built in the early phase of urban fortification around 1450. They were about 5 km long, while up to 6 m high, and were built between 1427 and 1467. In 1583, there were about 945 inhabitants living within the city limits, 150 years later the number dropped to 935, but by 1736 there were more than 1,837 and in 1875 more than 11,000 inhabitants.
