Hermann Heights Monument
Monument in New Ulm, Minnesota. The Hermann Heights Monument is a statue erected in New Ulm, Minnesota. The statue depicts Arminius, an ancient Cheruscan, but locals refer to the statue as Hermann the German. The only National Register of Historic Places property of its kind in Minnesota, the monument remains an impressive remembrance of German ancestry for many Minnesotans and other German Americans. Visitors to the statue can climb the spiral staircase to an observation platform at the base of the statue, which commands a view of the town and the Minnesota River Valley below.[1]

Museum. The Wanda Gág House is a historic house museum at 226 North Washington Street in New Ulm, Minnesota. The museum commemorates the life and legacy of author and artist Wanda Gág, whose childhood home this was. Built in 1898, it is a fine example of Queen Anne Victorian architecture, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.[2]

August Schell Brewing Company
Brewery in New Ulm, Minnesota. The August Schell Brewing Company is a brewing company in New Ulm, Minnesota that was founded by German immigrant August Schell in 1860. It is the second oldest family-owned brewery in America and became the oldest and largest brewery in Minnesota when the company bought the Grain Belt rights in 2002. In September 2010, the brewery celebrated its 150th Anniversary with a two-day festival. Every year, Schell's also celebrates traditional German holidays with Bock Fest and Oktoberfest. The current brewery is owned and operated by the August Schell Brewing Company, a Minnesota corporation that was incorporated in 1902.[3]

Harkin's General Store
Museum in Nicollet County, Minnesota. Harkin's General Store is all that remains of West Newton, in Nicollet County, Minnesota, United States. Alexander Harkin opened the store as combination general store and post office in 1867 in the growing town of West Newton. The town fell into decline after four years of locust swarms devastated southern Minnesota, and the railroad extended away from West Newton. The store closed in 1901.
Most of the stock was left when the store was closed and abandoned, and remains today as a museum currently managed by the Minnesota Historical Society.[6]

Martin Luther College
College in New Ulm, Minnesota. Martin Luther College is a private college in New Ulm, Minnesota, operated by the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. Martin Luther College was established in 1995, when Northwestern College of Watertown, Wisconsin, combined with Dr. Martin Luther College of New Ulm on the latter's campus.
MLC offers several undergraduate and graduate degree programs, all of which train students for service in the WELS. Men who graduate from the college's pre-seminary program may enroll at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. Men and women who graduate from its education programs may be assigned by the WELS as teachers and staff ministers to synod churches, schools, and missions. In 2019, MLC enrolled 731 undergraduate students and 129 graduate students.

The college's Gothic Revival-inspired Old Main building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 for having state-level significance in the themes of architecture, education, and religion.
