Gold Mine on Airline
Ballpark in Metairie, Louisiana. Gold Mine on Airline, formerly Shrine on Airline, is a 10,000-seat stadium in Metairie, Louisiana, a suburb of New Orleans. It is home field for the New Orleans Gold team in Major League Rugby. Known as Zephyr Field when built in 1997 as the home ballpark for the New Orleans Zephyrs, the stadium was renamed when the Minor League Baseball team's nickname changed from Zephyrs to Baby Cakes in 2017. Shrine on Airline had been an unofficial name for Zephyr Field used by the public address announcer since the stadium opened and it became the new name.
Minor league baseball left New Orleans at the end of the 2019 season, when the Baby Cakes relocated to Wichita, Kansas, where they continue as the Wichita Wind Surge. Initially, the city of New Orleans hoped to bring a Double-A Southern League team to the city and continue operations as the Baby Cakes. However, due to Major League Baseball's reorganization of Minor League Baseball, the league ceased operations in 2021 and the campaign ultimately failed.
The facility hosted the 1998 and 2001 Conference USA Baseball Tournaments and the 1999 Sun Belt Conference Baseball Tournament. Shrine on Airline was also the site of the Class 5A Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) baseball tournament in 2004 and 2005.[2]

Jefferson is a census-designated place in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, United States, on the north side of the Mississippi River. Jefferson is part of the New Orleans–Metairie–Kenner metropolitan statistical area. The population was 11,193 at the 2010 census, and 10,533 in 2020. It is often known by locals as "Old Jefferson", but should not be confused with Old Jefferson in East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana.[3]

Magnolia Lane Plantation
Historical landmark in Nine Mile Point, Louisiana. The Magnolia Lane Plantation, also known as the Fortier Plantation, is a historic plantation located on the Mississippi River in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana along LA 541. The plantation was owned in 1784 by Edward Fortier, during the Spanish colonial period. After being purchased in 1867 the plantation changed its name.
The plantation house and a 13.25 acres (5.36 ha) area comprising several non contributing structures was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 13, 1986.
The plantation home and property has been used for many major motion picture productions filmed in the New Orleans area.[6]
The Galleria
Building. The Galleria, located at One Galleria Boulevard in Metairie, Louisiana, is a 21-story, 269-foot -tall skyscraper designed by architect HKS, Inc. The Galleria was completed in 1986 and is the second tallest building in Jefferson Parish. The tower's primary use is as office space, along with the studios of Nexstar Media Group's two television stations for the New Orleans market, ABC affiliate WGNO and CW affiliate WNOL-TV. Six towers of roughly equal height were originally planned; this tower is the only one that was built.[7]
