Castle in Ludwigslust, Germany. Ludwigslust Palace is a stately home or schloss in the town of Ludwigslust, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, northern Germany. It was built as a hunting lodge, rebuilt as a luxurious retreat from the ducal capital, Schwerin, then became for a time the center of government. It was the "joy" of Prince Christian Ludwig, the heir of the Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, hence the name Ludwigslust.[1]

The Evangelical Lutheran town church in Ludwigslust was originally the court church of the Ludwigslust castle complex in the small town of the same name in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It is located about 500 meters south of the castle and is connected to it by a sequence of courtyard squares. Together, the two buildings form the largest Baroque ensemble in Mecklenburg.
