Kipu Falls

Kīpū Falls has a dangerous reputation due to drowning deaths of five people in a five-year span, as well as numerous other injuries. Due to the drowning deaths, Grove Farms Company, which owns the land where the falls are located, decided to block off the access route. From a legal perspective, visitors were trespassing, as the falls were not actually open to the public. Injuries became more prevalent after guide books began publicizing the falls.
Kīpū Falls is also widely known for being the filming location of the introduction scene of Raiders of the Lost Ark.[1]

It is the site of a heiau—a Hawaiian temple—on state land that was donated by neighboring condo developers. It is now landscaped, but retains facing walls and offers a good view of Wailua Bay. A 1.1 acres area was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.[2]

Nawiliwili Beach Park is a beach park and port on the south-east coast of the island of Kauai in the Hawaiian Islands. It is located on Nāwiliwili Bay at 21°57′33″N 159°21′10″W, about 1.9 miles south of Līhuʻe. It is at the south end of Hawaii Route 51, known as Rice Street. Just to the west is Niumalu Beach Park. Across Nāwiliwili Bay is Kawai Point.[4]
