Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park
Park in Cobb County, Georgia. Kennesaw Battlefield Park preserves a Civil War battleground of the Atlanta Campaign, and also contains Kennesaw Mountain. It is located at 905 Kennesaw Mountain Drive, between Marietta and Kennesaw, Georgia. The name "Kennesaw" derives from the Cherokee Indian "Gah-nee-sah" meaning "cemetery" or burial ground. The area was designated as a U.S. historic district on October 15, 1966.[1]

Kennesaw Mountain is a mountain between Marietta and Kennesaw, Georgia in the United States with a summit elevation of 1,808 feet. It is the highest point in the core metro Atlanta area, and fifth after further-north exurban counties are considered. The local terrain averages roughly 1,000 feet AMSL.
The mountain actually has two summits:
- "Big Kennesaw", where the modern-day parking area and scenic overlook are located
- Little Kennesaw Mountain, where several light hiking trails and nature areas connect the mountains to the rest of the park

The Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History is a museum in Kennesaw, Georgia, that contains a collection of artifacts and relics from the American Civil War, as well as from railroads of the state of Georgia and surrounding regions. The centerpiece is the General, a steam locomotive used in the Great Locomotive Chase in April 1862.
The Archives house a significant collection of company records, engineering drawings, blueprints, glass plate negatives, photographs and correspondence from various American businesses representing the railroad industry in the South after the Civil War. Stream in Georgia. Noonday Creek is a 20.2-mile-long stream in Cobb and Cherokee counties in the U.S. state of Georgia. The stream begins near Kennesaw Mountain and ends at Lake Allatoona.
Noonday is a translation of the native Cherokee language name, referring to the solar noon.[4]

Kennesaw State University
Public university in Kennesaw, Georgia. Kennesaw State University is a public research university in the U.S. state of Georgia with two primary campuses in the Atlanta metropolitan area, one in Kennesaw and the other in Marietta on a combined 581 acres of land. The school was founded in 1963 by the Georgia Board of Regents using local bonds and a federal space-grant during a time of major Georgia economic expansion after World War II. KSU also holds classes at the Cobb Galleria Centre, Dalton State College, and in Paulding County. The fall 2021 enrollment exceeded 42,000 students making KSU the second-largest university by enrollment in Georgia while also having the largest freshman class in the state as well.
KSU is part of the University System of Georgia and is classified among "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity". The university has multiple academic programs in business, education, engineering, nursing, physical sciences, information technology, criminal justice, and sports management.
