Egyptian Theatre
Movie house in Delta, Colorado. The Egyptian Theatre in Delta, Colorado is an Egyptian Revival movie house. The 750-seat theater opened in 1928 at the height of the fashion for thematically-designed cinemas. It was designed by Montana Fallis, who designed the Mayan Theatre in Denver.
The Egyptian is notable as one of the first locations for a promotion devised by 20th Century Fox regional manager, Charles Yeager, during the 1930s when business was poor in the small Colorado theaters he managed. "Bank Night" awarded $30 to a random patron once a week. The promotion improved attendance and kept theaters in business. Yeager's pilot program in Colorado was expanded so that by 1936 the promotion was in use at 4000 cinemas in the United States.
After years of decline and neglect the theater was restored in the 1990s, reopening in 1997 as a community theater. It was then renovated again in 2009 to accommodate for new groundbreaking 3D technology.[1]

Fort Uncompahgre
Fort Uncompahgre was a fur trading post constructed in 1828 by Antoine Robidoux, a trader based out of Mexican Santa Fe. The post was situated about two miles down from the confluence of the Gunnison River and the Uncompahgre River, near the present day community of Delta, Colorado. Its design was more to secure goods and livestock than to be defensive, and was abandoned in 1844 when hostilities broke out between Ute and Mexicans.
A reconstruction of this fur trading post is open to the public, although the precise location of the original site has been lost and little is known about the construction or layout of the fort.[2]

Sweitzer Lake State Park
State park in Delta County, Colorado. Sweitzer Lake State Park is a Colorado state park located in Delta County 1 mile south of Delta, Colorado. The 210-acre park established in 1960 includes a 137-acre reservoir. Facilities include a boat ramp, swim beach and picnic sites. Birdwatchers have spotted 170 different species in the park. A portion of the park's land was donated by the eponymous Morgan Sweitzer in order to develop it as a recreation destination.[3]

First Methodist Episcopal Church of Delta
Heritage building in Delta, Colorado. The First Methodist Episcopal Church of Delta, located at 199 E. Fifth St. in Delta, Colorado, was built in 1910 in the Tudor Revival style. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. Its parsonage was included as a second contributing building in that listing, and reflects Bungalow/Craftsman architecture. The church has also been known as First Methodist Church of Delta and as Delta United Methodist Church.
It was designed by Samuel A. Bullard of Springfield, Illinois architects Bullard & Bullard, or, rather, plans were bought from that company.[4]
