Sculpture by Charles Mulligan. Peace Monument is a cenotaph designed by Charles Mulligan. It is located at the Adams County Courthouse in Decatur, Indiana, in the United States. It is a war memorial devoted to peace, active women in the American Civil War and as a general war memorial commemorating the sacrifice of soldiers in war. It is the first monument in the United States specifically devoted to peace.^[1]

Heritage building in Decatur, Indiana. Charles Dugan House, also known as the Adams County Historical Society Museum, is a historic home located at Decatur, Adams County, Indiana. It was designed by the prominent architectural firm of Wing & Mahurin and built in 1902. It is a two-story, Classical Revival style yellow brick dwelling with a hipped roof. The house features a semicircular portico, Doric order corner pilasters, and porte cochere. Also on the property is a contributing frame garage. It was purchased by the Adams County Historical Society Museum in 1968 for $17,250.

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.^[2]

Courthouse. Adams County Courthouse is located in the city of Decatur, the county seat of Adams County, Indiana. It was built in 1872–1873 at a cost of $78,979. The designer was J. C. Johnson, who had been trained as a carpenter and joiner and became a self-taught architect; he won second place in the Indiana State Capitol design competition.^[3]

It was built about 1900–1905, and is a three-story, Queen Anne style frame dwelling with 14 rooms. It sits on a stone foundation. It features stained glass and lead crystal windows and wraparound porch with Tuscan order columns. It was built by John S. Bowers, who owned a local quarry.

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.^[4]
