Shrine in Tateyama, Japan. Awa Shrine is a Shinto shrine in the Daijingū neighborhood of the city of Tateyama in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. It is one of two shrines claiming to hold the title of ichinomiya of former Awa Province. The main festival of the shrine is held annually on August 10.[2]

Aloha Garden Tateyama

Botanical garden in Tateyama, Japan. The Aloha Garden Tateyama is a botanical garden located in Tateyama, Chiba, Japan. It is open daily; an admission fee is charged.
The garden is associated with the Michi no eki Nambō off of Chiba Prefectural Highway 257, nicknamed the “Flower Route”. Operated by the Chiba Prefectural Government, the complex consists of a golf course, family park, as well as the botanical gardens.
Within the botanical garden portion of the complex are several greenhouses plus an outdoor area with observation tower, petting zoo, ponds, etc. The greenhouses exhibit tropical plants, butterflies, and birds. A Singapore Orchid House and Merlion statue reflect the garden's association with the Singapore Botanic Gardens.[3]

At the end of the Edo period, Tateyama Castle was home to the Inaba clan, daimyō of Tateyama Domain, but the castle is better known for its association with the former rulers of Awa Province, the Satomi clan. The castle was also known as "Nekoya-jō".[4]
