Bridge in Shimada, Japan. The Hōrai Bridge is a wooden pedestrian bridge over the Ōi River located in the city of Shimada, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. It was constructed in 1879 With a length of 897.422 metres, the bridge was registered in The Guinness Book of Records as the longest wooden walking bridge in the world in 1997.[2]

Oi-jinja Shrine is located in Oi-cho, Shimada City, Shizuoka Prefecture. It is a national historical shrine, formerly a prefectural shrine, and currently an attached shrine of the Jinja Honcho (Shinto Shrines Agency).
A shrine dedicated to the divine spirit of the Oigawa River, it is known for the Shimada Grand Festival (Obi Matsuri) held once every three years.
