End of the Trail

A bronze sculpture depicting Meriwether Lewis, William Clark, and Seaman by Stanley Wanlass, sometimes called End of the Trail, is installed in Seaside, Oregon, United States. The memorial was installed in 1990 and marks the end of the Lewis and Clark Trail. According to the National Park Service, the "End of the Trail Lewis and Clark Commemorative Statue" honors the Corps of Discovery and Lewis and Clark Expedition.[1]

Tillamook Head

Promontory in Oregon. Tillamook Head is a high promontory on the Pacific coast of northwest Oregon in the United States. It is located in west-central Clatsop County, approximately 5 mi southwest of Seaside. The promontory forms a steep rocky bluff on the ocean, approximately 1,200 ft high, forested with Sitka spruce. It is located in Ecola State Park.

The promontory is named after the Tillamook, a Salishan-speaking tribe of Native Americans who inhabited the coast south of the promontory in the 19th century. In 1806, Captain William Clark and 12 members of the Corps of Discovery documented their journey south from Fort Clatsop, hiking over the promontory where they encountered a beached whale.[3]

State park in Clatsop County, Oregon. Ecola State Park is a state park located approximately 3 miles north of Cannon Beach in Clatsop County in the U.S. state of Oregon on the Oregon Coast. It is administered by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department.

The park encompasses 9 miles (14 km) of coastline between Cannon Beach and Seaside and includes Tillamook Head. In 1806, William Clark and other members of the Corps of Discovery traveled through the area in search of a beached whale and saw burial canoes of the Tillamook; the park is included as part of Lewis and Clark National Historical Park, though separate entrance fees are charged. Archaeological sites within the park dating to as early as 1100 CE have revealed much about the Tillamook. Included within the park are 8 miles (13 km) of the Oregon Coast Trail. Scenes from several movies have been filmed at Indian Beach and other park locations.[4]

Part of the Oregon Coast Range, Saddle Mountain is in Saddle Mountain State Natural Area in the northwest corner of Oregon. The peak is listed on Oregon's Register of Natural Heritage Resources.[5]

Lake in Oregon. Cullaby Lake is a lake near Warrenton, Oregon, United States. It is the central feature of Cullaby Lake County Park, and one of the major lakes of Clatsop Plains.

Cullaby Lake's main water inflow is Cullaby Creek which flows in from the south and drains the coastal hills to the east of Clatsop Plains, Gearhart and Seaside. It has been the headwaters of the Skipanon River since the construction of the Carnahan Ditch in the 1800s, before this, the lake drained to the south via Neacoxie Creek into the Necanicum River north of Seaside.

The park contains a boat ramp for the lake.[6]
