Museum in Glens Falls, New York. The Chapman Museum presents the history of the Glens Falls – Queensbury community and its connection to the Adirondack region. By encouraging discovery, understanding, and appreciation of the region's heritage, the museum provides perspective for the present and the future. The museum is owned and operated by the Glens Falls-Queensbury Historical Association. The historic home attached to the museum was originally built by Zopher DeLong who made his living as a hardware merchant in Glens Falls.[1]

Art museum in Glens Falls, New York. The Hyde Collection is an art museum in the city of Glens Falls in Upstate New York. The collections were endowed by the Hyde family. The museum is housed in a historic refurbished early twentieth-century residence, the Hyde House, located at 161 Warren Street in Glens Falls, New York, a building that is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Founded by Louis and Charlotte Hyde, the collection contains historic furniture, books, paintings, sculptures and pottery. Now expanded with many modern additions, the museum, while relatively small and "off the beaten track" contains an impressive and broad collection including Italian Renaissance and eighteenth-century French antiques, and works by Botticelli, El Greco, van Dyck, Ingres, Raphael, Rembrandt, Rubens, Tintoretto, Cézanne, Degas, Matisse, Picasso, Renoir, and van Gogh. In addition, works by important American artists including Eakins, Childe Hassam, Winslow Homer, Ryder, and Whistler are also present.[2]

It was built about 1895 and is a square, three story, flat roofed building faced with brick veneer. It features projecting three story bay windows, bracketed three tiered porches with turned posts and balustrades, and a bracketed pressed metal cornice.

Church. First Presbyterian Church is a historic Presbyterian church at 402-410 Glen Street in Glens Falls, New York. It was built in 1927 and is a substantial stone, Neo-gothic-style church in a cruciform plan. It was designed by architect Ralph Adams Cram.

It was the spiritual home to former Representative Gerald B.H. Solomon, and his funeral was held in the building. It was attended by Speaker Dennis Hastert, Governor George Pataki, and other representatives.

Bemis Eye Sanitarium Complex

Bemis Eye Sanitarium Complex is a historic sanatorium complex located at Glens Falls, Warren County, New York. The complex was built between about 1893 and 1902 and consists of eight contributing structures. The architect was Ephraim Potter. There are five boarding houses built for the sanitarium, as well as two previously existing residences and a carriage house that were converted for sanitarium use in the 1890s.

Dr. Edward Herbert Bemis built the complex for the treatment of eye diseases. The sanitarium closed after his death in 1901.

It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

At least two of the buildings of the complex, on Sherman Avenue, were later re-purposed as the Sherman Square Apartments. These buildings suffered a severe fire on May 8, 2014. The interior was gutted, but the exterior was salvaged, and the apartment complex was expected to be eventually re-opened.[11]
