Denton County Courthouse-on-the-Square
Museum in Denton, Texas. The Denton County Courthouse-on-the-Square is the former courthouse of Denton County located in the county seat Denton, Texas. The Denton County Courthouse-on-the-Square was constructed in 1896. In addition to county offices, the "Courthouse-on-the-Square Museum" also calls it home. The courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Courthouse is also the final resting place of John B. Denton, the county's and city's namesake.
In 1918, a monument to Confederate Soldiers was gifted to Denton by the local chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and placed on the grounds of the Courthouse-on-the-Square. The monument was titled "Our Confederate Soldiers" and contained separate drinking water fountains at the base, with one side etched "whites" and the other "colored." The monument was removed on June 23, 2020, following decades of protest urging its removal, with the Denton County Commissioners citing the safety of the artifact as the reason for it being removed.

Sculpture by Leo Friedlander. The Pioneer Woman statue is a work created by sculptor Leo Friedlander. It is located at the Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas, United States, and was commissioned as part of the Texas Centenary celebrations to mark the 100th anniversary of Texas Independence from Mexico. The sculpture was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2018.[2]

Theatre in Denton, Texas. The Denton Community Theatre was a local theatre company located in Denton, Texas in the United States. It serves as one of the oldest community theatres in the North Texas area having been in existence since 1969. It is located at the historic Campus Theatre on West Hickory Street. In 2020, it merged with another local theatre company to form a new company - Theatre Denton.
Throughout the Denton community, people, businesses, and educators are working together to better implement the arts into the Northern Texas area. The goal is to develop a more livable community by supporting the growth and more responsive use of artistic and cultural resources that exist in Denton.[3]

Shiloh Field Community Garden
Community garden in Denton, Texas. Shiloh Field Community Garden is a community garden in Denton, Texas that grows produce for local food pantries and charities. At 14.5 acres, it is considered the largest community garden in the United States by the American Community Garden Association.
The garden was founded in 2009 by Gene Gumfory (1939 - 2020). The land is owned by the Denton Bible Church, but operations are funded through donations. In the first five years of operation, the garden harvested over 100,000 pounds of produce.
In 2019, the garden donated 23,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the garden saw an increase in demand, and the Friends of Shiloh Garden organized ways to optimize output. As a result, in the year 2020 alone, the garden donated over 40,000 pounds of produce to local food banks and nonprofits.[5]
Guinn Hall
Guinn Hall is an American residence hall at Texas Woman's University, and is the tallest building in Denton, Texas. Named for the 6th president of Texas Woman's University the co-ed dormitory faces University Avenue.
The building is 24 stories tall and it houses first time college students only, with each room made up of two to three occupational bedrooms each with its own private bathroom.
Each floor of Guinn is a different Living Learning Community. These LLCs group people based on interests, majors, scholarships, or leadership skills.
Due to housing shortages the university currently places three students to a room for some floors. Bedrooms with three students are less expensive and can be a suitable option for students. It no longer provides telephone service. Each bedroom does have a private bathroom and cable hookup.[6]

Stark Hall
Stark Hall is an American residence hall at Texas Woman's University, and was the tallest building in Denton, Texas until the completion of the adjacent Guinn Hall Traditionally single-sex, in fall 2016, it became co-educational and houses first year and sophomore students only.[7]
