Spec Martin Stadium currently hosts Stetson Hatters football, DeLand High School Bulldog football and was the host of the Central Florida Warriors rugby league team. The stadium was known as DeLand Municipal Stadium from is opening in 1941 until it was renamed in 1973.[2]

Building in DeLand, Florida. The John B. Stetson House, built for hat manufacturer John B. Stetson, is a historic home in DeLand, Florida, United States. It is located at 1031 Camphor Lane. The house was designed by popular Philadelphia architect George T. Pearson in 1886. Pearson also designed several buildings for Mr. Stetson on the Stetson University campus, as well as the Stetson factory buildings in North Philadelphia.

On November 21, 1978, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The house was extensively renovated in 2008 and, although a private residence, is open for scheduled tours.[4]

It is a community visual arts museum dedicated to the collecting, preservation, study, display and educational use of the fine arts. Built in 1886 by Henry Addison DeLand, it changed hands numerous times until it was donated to the city of DeLand in 1988.It opened as a Victorian era historic house museum in 1990. The museum also contains materials related to the history of western Volusia County, and is operated by the West Volusia Historical Society.[7]

African American Museum of the Arts

Museum in DeLand, Florida. The African American Museum of the Arts is an art museum, art gallery, and performance space located at 325 South Clara Avenue in DeLand, Florida. It contains a revolving display of art, and over 150 African-related artifacts.

The museum was the brainchild of Irene D. and Maxwell Johnson. After meeting with friends and community leaders, the two helped establish a board of directors on September 22, 1994. After two months of fundraising, the board leased a 1,200 square feet (110 m2) space from the DeLand Housing Authority. This put the museum in the center of DeLand's African American neighborhood. The museum incorporated on January 10, 1995, and received its federal tax-exempt nonprofit status on May 3, 1995.

The museum opened its first exhibits on October 8, 1995. In addition to permanent displays of art and artifacts, the museum hosts temporary art exhibits and fine arts performances. It also provides meeting space for community groups and educational classes in the arts.[8]
