Museum of the Fur Trade
Museum in the Dawes County, Nebraska. The Bordeaux Trading Post near Chadron, Nebraska was built during 1845–46 by James Bordeaux. It has been reconstructed faithfully, in the same location with the same post-holes, using weathered old lumber from a nearby ranchhouse. It is now the Museum of the Fur Trade.
In 1972 the post was listed as an archeological site, with potential for information to be gleaned in the future, on the National Register of Historic Places.[1]

Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center
Museum in Chadron, Nebraska. The Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center is a museum dedicated to the life and works of author Mari Sandoz, and to the High Plains region of the western United States, in which Sandoz grew up, and which was the setting of many of her fictional and non-fictional works. The Center is located on the campus of Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska. It occupies the college's former library building, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.[2]

Crites Hall
Building in Chadron, Nebraska. Crites Hall, at 10th and Main Sts. in Chadron, Nebraska, is the student services building of Chadron State College. The building is historic, dating from 1938, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is in Art Deco style, designed by architect Gordon Shattuck, and was the first men's dormitory at the college. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
It is named for Edwin D. Crites (1884-1953), a first generation northwestern-Nebraskan who spent his career as an attorney in Chadron and was a State Normal Board member from 1931 to 1953.
Gordon Shattuck also designed the H. J. Bartenbach House, in Grand Island, Nebraska, which is also NRHP-listed.[3]
Edna Work Hall
Historical place in Chadron, Nebraska. Edna Work Hall, also known as Women's Hall, on the campus of Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska, was built in 1932 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
It was designed by architect Arthur D. Baker. It was expanded at the rear in 1960.
It was built to serve as a women's dormitory and replaced 1914-built Sparks Hall in that role. It was renamed for Edna E. Work (1881-1950) who served as Dean of Women from 1916 until 1947, and who helped plan and design this building, first named Women's Hall.[4]

Sparks Hall
Building in Chadron, Nebraska. Sparks Hall, also known as Women's Dormitory on the campus of Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska, was built in 1914 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
It was designed by Lincoln, Nebraska, architect Alfred W. Woods. It is a two-story wood-frame building with red brick veneer, on a raised basement. It has a one-story covered porch.
It was the second building on the campus and served as the women's dormitory from 1914 to 1932 or 1933, when it was replaced in that role by Edna Work Hall. It was then renamed "Sparks Hall", named for Joseph Sparks, the first president of the college, and began serving as the men's dormitory.[5]
Chadron Public Library
Public library in Chadron, Nebraska. The Chadron Public Library, at 507 Bordeaux St. in Chadron, Nebraska, is a historic Carnegie library in a Classical Revival-style building designed by architect George A. Berlinghof. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.
It was funded by a $5,000 Carnegie grant upon a second application, after first being rejected. It was designed for just $100 by "noted Lincoln architect" George A. Berlinghof, who happened to be working in Chadron on a larger commission.[6]

College in Chadron, Nebraska. Chadron State College is a public college in Chadron, Nebraska. It is one of three public colleges in the Nebraska State College System. It has open admission and an acceptance rate of 100%. According to College Factual, it has a six-year graduation rate of 42.1%, and a four-year graduation rate of 24.0%, both of which are well below the national average.
The school opened in June 1911, although a previous institution dated from the late 19th century. The college has an enrollment of about 3,000 students. Five of its 25 major buildings are listed in the National Register of Historic Places.[7]
